If a development has an impact on the highway network a Transport Statement (TS) is often prepared and submitted in support of a planning application. Transport Statements can be prepared by EC Road Safety on behalf of the applicant and are used in the planning process to determine whether the transport impacts of the development are acceptable.

 

A Transport Statement helps to sets out the transport issues and implications relating to a proposed development and the impact the proposed changes may have. The Transport Statement helps to identify measures to deal with any unacceptable transport impacts of the development and to maintain or improve accessibility and safety for all modes of travel, particularly for sustainable alternatives to the car such as walking, cycling and public transport. For smaller developments EC Road Safety can provide supporting information for planning applications or Design and Access Statements to accompany planning applications.

 

EC Road Safety have lots of experience in  the preparation of such statements and offers support for planning applications and appeals. Our engineers have local authority experience so are aware of the requirements of the highway authority at an early stage and help to identify likely objections and issues. On larger scale projects EC Road Safety also works alongside other consultancies who can provide additional services and civil engineering advice.
