EC Road Safety offers advice and guidance with any highway issue.  If there are possible highway implications, support from EC Road Safety can prevent a refusal to a planning application by ensuring sufficient information is provided to the case officer. This may consist of a Transport Statement, an audit or simply some further information and details to support the planning application. Preventing a refusal can save money with delays to schemes being implemented and unnecessary appeals. Many local authorities also now insist on a Road Safety Audit to accompany the planning application.

 

However, if an application is refused on highway grounds, the objections can often be addressed by making appropriate design changes to a scheme and re-submitted. Unfortunately there are instances when such a scheme is subject to appeal with the Planning Inspectorate and support is required for the appeal. EC Road Safety can offer supporting statements for such appeals.
